Why is my face red and dry after taking off my makeup?

I wore makeup for the first time last night and today after I took my makeup off last night, my skin is dry and red today. I even have to pimples on the top of my lip below the nose.

Do you think that it is from using this makeup remover I brought that is only meant for lips and eyes, which I used on all of my face and neck.|||Well, one of the things might be is because your skin isn't use to all the makeup, then makeup remover. If, you're like me, your skin will most likely always behave like this with cheap makeup, and harsh removers. Try to use more brand-name makeups, so your sure that it won't be cheap, and hurt your skin. As for removers and cleansers for your face, use types that are specifically meant for sensitive skin.

Hope this helped! :D|||I feel your pain.

I think it could be from the make-up or the remover.

I am guessing that you have pretty sensitive skin. Wearing and removing make-up without wrecking your skin in the process will be a challenge.

Let's start from the beginning. I don't know what type of make-up you are wearing but some of them are quite hard to remove.

Use a creamy remover. There are tons of them out there. I happen to like a product called The World's Greatest Make-up Remover available at the drugstore but Neutrogena makes some good ones.

Then you are going to need to cleanse your face. Use the most gentle cleanser available. CeraVe is good as are some by Olay. Again, lots to choose from. But what you shouldn't do is use a heavy duty cleanser to get everything off of your face at once because you will just strip your skin.

From there you can use a non-alcohol toner and light moisturizer but these are steps that you can skip.|||The redness could be an allergic reaction to the makeup remover you're using or your skin might be sensitive.|||your makeup may contain HCl, its an acid commonly found in the product you are using.

HCl is meant for people with strong facial skin,
