What's the best way to get lipstick of your skin without makeup remover?

I was putting on red lipstick the other day, and sometime it smudges on the outside of my lips. How can I get this off without makeup remover?

To get it off right as you're applying it, use a cotton swab dipped in a little soap and water. Should come right off.|||i normally use a damp cloth and sometimes even the towel
