How do I remove stains on my fingernails from red polish?

I painted my nails red for a formal party last week and the red stained my nails. My normal polish remover got rid of the actual color, but there is a pinkish stain left behind. How can I get rid of it?|||This happens all the time to me when I forget to put a base coat on.

Unfortunately, you permanently stained a layer of your nails. However, this can be easily be removed with a nail buffer.

Just take a regular nail buffing block, buff off for a minute until the reddish color is gone, use the other side of the buffer to condition, and another side to polish.

I'd recommend getting Seacret's Nail Care Collection:

This truely has the best nail buffing block I've ever used. Shines nails gorgeously, too.|||some people say using lemon juice helps, i've never got around to trying it myself but i've even read it in some books.

for future reference tho ill tell you what i do, when removing the colour with nail polish remover i use one cotton bud for the first nail then get rid of it, then i use a new cotton bud with nail polish remover and clean that same nail again then using the same cotton bud remove the colour from my next nail then repeat, it tends to work for me because you are trying to remove the stain before it really has a chance to stain, also you can go over each nail again with a clean cotton bud at the end....

good luck =)|||It's from the nail polish remover.

Don't use nail polish remover. It is very strong stuff ! It'll ruin your nails.

It will actually melt into the surface of your fingernails - hence; the nail discoloration - and turn them soft, ...then brittle and flaky.

Wet the dry nail polish with a fresh coat of same. - Don't let it dry. Rub it off with Kleenex.

When you do this ...it melts some of the old polish, and takes it with it.

Now. Reapply again ...don't let it dry, and rub it off again.

Do this 5 times, and you've wiped all the old polish off.|||soak the in peroxide...it may not go away on the first try but it will go away, to avoid this in the future ALWAYS us a clear, tacky base coat. This will prevent the yellow stains ans your polish will last longer.|||Dont wear nail varnish then (= easy as that (=|||try using a file,a file is what they use to smooth and shape your nails.|||Try vinegar or lye soap
