I have a large doily that I put over my dresser and it was a pretty large deep red marker stain. I put stain remover on it, but should I wash it in the washing machine or will my doily come out pink?|||As you have already put stain remover on it give it a rinse with luke warm water and washing up liquid. If the doily is white then you could bleach it as long as its not nylon.|||I would try washing it by hand with shampoo
and put in sun to dry|||I *strongly* recommend trying the "Resolve Carpet Crystals" first. This is a crumbly, damp powder which is sort of magic about removing marker stains without damaging carpet. This will probably work for your doily to get the marker color down to a pinkish color without spreading the pink over the entire doily.
As for getting out ALL of the stain, it depends on the type of marker. 3M Magic Eraser also is good, but is hard to use on anything but smooth surfaces.
Some dry cleaning companies may be able to help. If the marker is oil based, then dry cleaning solution can sometimes get the stain out.
All things considered, it's likely you'll end up having to stain the entire doily, then clean it with resolve, and just enjoy having a pink doily.
Good luck!
