The best ink and dye remover I have ever found is Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover鈩?
I tested Krud Kutter personally using permanent magic marker on a porous surface. It out-performed everything else.
What did NOT work: Hair Spray, Rubbing Alcohol, Nail Polish Remover, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Hand Sanitizer, and even WD-40.
Krud Kutter was the ONLY product that removed magic marker for me. It's amazing stuff.
Spray Krud Kutter onto a clean rag and just wipe the ink right off. It's that simple.
Krud Kutter is specifically formulated to remove ink, so it actually works.
You can buy Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover at Target, Home Depot, and most hardware stores. It's also available over the Internet: http://www.google.com/products?q=Krud+Ku鈥?/a>

LTT Leathercare offer the service in the UK and are specialists in their field at this sort of problem.
The other thing you can try is a Jean and Dye Transfer Remover Kit which has been specifically developed for this sort of problem.

If the kit does not remove the dye it is because it has travelled too far into the finish and will need recolouring/refinishing to make it like new again.
On pale coloured leather it is crucial to use a good quality leather protector that will act like a scotchgard and inhibit this type of problem otherwise it will simply happen again.
