How to get red nail varnish out of a white carpet?

My two year old sister decided it would be a good idea to go into my room and paint herself and (more importantly) my white carpet red with my nail varnish. I've tried nail varnish remover and vinegar both haven't really worked too well. Help?!|||Red coloring can be a really strong stain, and unfortunately, if the carpet was wool, the vinegar could have acted like a dye fixative and made the staining permanent. (Vinegar and other acids are how dyes are made permanent on fibers like wool and silk).

You need to find out what the carpet is made of to make sure you don't set the stain accidentally when trying to clean it. Renting a deep steam cleaner might help the nail varnish let go of the rug fibers.|||Often nail polish on carpet is just on the very tips of the fibers. If this is the case you can just snip the polish off with sharp scissors.

Just cut the very tips of the fibers. Work slowly. Don't cut a single millimeter more than you have to and pull up while cutting. This will help prevent divots in the carpet. Try your best to do just one or two fibers at a time...not a whole clump.

This will work unless you have worked the nail polish deeper into the carpet with the nail polish remover.

Also...cutting the nail polish works on shag or plush carpet, but not Berber or loopy carpet.

Good luck.

-|||You can also use hydrogen peroxide if your carpet is white since it has bleaching effect. Now, blot the stained area with your wet towel. After all the stains were removed, you may rinse the carpet using warm water. Dry the area thoroughly before allowing anybody to use it. You can also take carpet cleaning service from shirazantiquerugs (www.shirazantiquerugs.com). They care for our carpets meticulously and offer the same superior cleaning and restoration resources.
