How can I remove red nail polish stains from around my cuticles?

I have really nice gel nails on with a high quality red polish. Some of it stained my cuticles and using remover only smudges it more. Are there any tricks to remove the polish from my skin and not my nails?|||they have pens that have a tip filled with nail polish remover that you squirt out so you dont accidentally ruin your whole nail. maybe lemon juice that takes a lot of stains away|||cut off your finger tips
